Volunteers make a massive difference to The Insurance Charity and to our beneficiaries.
If you’re considering giving something back to the insurance community by offering your time and expertise, we can help.
We rely on a dedicated team of volunteers across the UK and Ireland to raise awareness and fundraise locally.
We also offer regular opportunities to serve on our committees and our Board of Trustees.
If you’d like to get involved and are interested in finding out more, please contact us.
On behalf of our charity and all our beneficiaries, thank you for your support.

Insurance Charity Ambassadors
Ambassadors increase awareness of our charity among prospective beneficiaries and local employers through events, presentations, and communication with Local Institute members.
We deliver an awareness campaign each June, and Ambassadors help us identify and contact local employers to engage people.
As part of your role, you may be responsible for fundraising for The Insurance Charity within your local Institute area.
Also, if you are a member of a membership organisation like BIBA, we’d be delighted to discuss how you might be able to help.

Trustee and Committee Members
We currently have no trustee or committee vacancies, but please keep an eye on this page and our LinkedIn account for updates.

James Almond
Volunteer Visitor and Associate Director – Stanmore Insurance Brokers
“Insurance has been part of my life for over 28 years and the Charity is a vital lifeline for our community. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been supported by my employers throughout my life, and realise how lucky I am. Through no fault of their own, it is not the case for everyone. With a commitment to inspire others to join this fantastic, though often overlooked, industry I wanted to make a difference in my circle of influence. That’s why I became a Volunteer Visitor two years ago.
Eileen McCaughey
Grants Committee Member and Office Manager – Norwegian Hull Club
“I found out about The Insurance Charity via the International Underwriting Association’s HR Committee and jumped at the chance to volunteer for such a worthwhile cause. I wanted to do something that gave back to those in the industry who found themselves in less fortunate circumstances.
