We are delighted to share that Nathan Killbery, Senior Grants & Services Caseworker at The Insurance Charity, has won the Rising Star of the Year award at the ACO – The Association of Charitable Organisations Annual Awards 2026, kindly supported by Family Fund Business Services (FFBS).
The Rising Star of the Year is a brand-new category for 2026, celebrating individuals making an outstanding contribution to the charitable sector in the early stages of their careers. Nathan is a brilliant example of the emerging talent within our team, and we could not be prouder of this recognition.
Judges said, “Nathan was recognised as a compassionate and innovative leader whose influence is already extending beyond his own role and organisation, making a wider impact across the sector.”
Helen Sanson, CEO of The Insurance Charity, said, “We are so proud of Nathan and his outstanding achievement. Since joining us nine months ago, he has made a huge contribution to our organisation to benefit the insurance people we support. To be recognised by the ACO and nominated alongside so many other outstanding individuals from the benevolent sector is fantastic. These awards shine a spotlight on the life-changing work being done to support people facing challenging circumstances, and the new Rising Star category is a welcome addition.”
Speaking after receiving his award, Nathan said, “Winning this award is a huge honour, but I couldn’t have done so without the rest of the team at The Insurance Charity. I’m proud of the changes that we have made since I joined at the start of the year, and I’m looking forward to seeing how we can continue to improve our support for people from the insurance industry.”
Winners were announced at the ACO’s Annual Conference on 17 September, which took place in London.
